Gettin’ the Band Back Together: Broadway’s Newest Musical Comedy

Gettin’ the Band Back Together is the latest musical comedy to hit Broadway. Directed by Tony Award winner, John Rando, this amusing musical will leave you rolling in the aisles with laughter.

The Plot

Mitch Papadopolous seemingly had it all. A successful high-paying career in banking and a plush high-rise apartment in Manhattan. Banking was never his real passion. Mitch still dreamed of the rock star career he had always envisioned for himself. On his 40th birthday, he receives the worst birthday present an employee could receive. A pink slip. With looming financial problems ahead, Mitch is forced to move back in with his mom in Sayreville, New Jersey. With financial troubles of her own, the mother/son duo are facing foreclosure at the hand of Mitch’s old high school enemy.

Mitch is desperate for a way to save his childhood home and keep his arch enemy at bay. When his nemesis challenges him to the upcoming Battle of the Bands, Mitch digs up his old guitar and gathers up the old band members who are a cast of characters like no other. There’s the math teacher who’s numerically challenged, the Dermatologist who’s unlucky in love, the cop with Broadway aspirations, and the band’s newest member who is a 16-year old Yamaka-wearing rapper. The group sets out to rock the Battle of the Bands, win back Mitch’s mom’s house and maybe even rekindle a romance with his former high school sweetheart.
