empty tabls await their guests inside L’Appart Restaurant New York

L’Appart Restaurant – Manhattan

If you decide to spend money on high-quality food, you consider a number of factors about the destination. Would you prefer somewhere quiet and intimate, or a grand open space with spectacular views? Well, L’Appart restaurant may be right up your street.

French restaurant L’Appart may be unique in the market in that it can offer you both of those things at the same time. There’s a fantastic panorama of the Hudson River visible through the huge windows, but at the same time, you get the warm, cosy feeling of eating in somebody’s front room. L’Appart contains only eight tables and serves a maximum of 28 people in one sitting.

When your mind isn’t on the conversation or scenery, you can watch the chefs at work in the open kitchen, where you’ll find Nicolas Abello and his team hard preparing your tasting menu. There is a ‘chef’s table’ feel to dinner at L’Appart, and so it’s the tasting menu or nothing at all, but there’s no reason to object when the tasting menu is this exceptional. It’s $185 per person, with recommended wine pairings costing a further $105, but it will feel like money well spent when you reach the end of the fourteen courses.

Lobster curry and Berkshire pork tarragon may not sound French when you see them written down, but it’s the cooking and the presentation that make all the difference. The staff at the L’Appart restaurant pride themselves on making you feel at home, but we don’t remember home cooking ever tasting this good.
